In One Way, Out The Other

Hello everyone, its been a long time since I've had a chance to blog. So I'm blogging a story that I made up for a project for one of my classes (Yes, were still in school over only 4 days more though). Anyway This story has people from our family in it, ENJOY!


Problem

Someone has stolen a Family Heirloom, a diamond, from a family, aunts and uncles and all, that’s worth $500,000,000.00. People are suspecting each other and no one trust no one, until the family’s Heirloom is found. Each aunt and uncle is solving the mystery on his or her own.

In One Way, Out The Other

“You’re fired,” said Mr. Hule, “I’m sorry, but you’re always coming in late, especially during this time now summer time (June 1st – September 1st), and you’re not getting the best picture of the story, I’m sorry Thomas.”
Thomas was a photographer; he was assigned to some pretty cool stories. His sister, Rachel, was a good photographer too; she helped her brother all the time in the company business.
After Thomas was fired he went home to his wife in eastern Safford, AZ, and discussed what happened at work. She thought it just wasn’t fair.
The whole next day Thomas was looking for a job, taking short breaks here and there. He would see signs everywhere saying get the best job in the year 2005.
Meanwhile Thomas’s sister Esther was also determined to get a job, but she found a job that would suit her well, and fast, it was a job as being a manager of a big movie theatre.
Thomas’s day did not include “Good Luck” in it, but there was just enough happiness to get him happy about the small family reunion coming up in a week.
One week later Thomas, his wife, his daughter, and his little son (not yet born) were headed off to Thomas’s Parent’s home for the small family reunion. When Thomas and his family got there, there was a note on the door saying:
Dear Children and Grandchildren,
Grandpa and I went to Hawaii for the week, just for a small vacation. Yes we know there was a family reunion, but you all can still have it, just with out us.

“Lets go in and see who is here already,” suggested Thomas. So Thomas and his family went inside the house. They saw Thomas’s sisters Mary, Esther, Rachel, and Rebecca and their families, but he didn’t see any of his brothers Nathan, Joel, Daniel, and Jeremy.
“Hey you made it,” greeted Rachel still thinking that he was sad about being fired, “we were just wandering where the boys were.”
Ding! Dong! Blong! Bling! “Come in!” yelled Rebecca.
“Man…I’m out of breath,” said Joel, “So is Mom…and Dad… really in Hawaii…right now?”
Ding! Dong! Blong! Bling! “Come in!” yelled Rebecca again.
“Hey everyone, I just got back from starting my new movie ‘in one way and out the other,’” Said Daniel.
“That sounds interesting. I know it’s going to be a good one,” replied Mary.
Ding! Dong! Blong! Bling! “Come in!” yelled Rebecca once again.
“Hey everyone today I solved two mysteries. How was your day?” said Uncle Jeremy.
Ding! Dong! Blong! Bling! “Come in!” yelled Rebecca for the last time.
The last person that came into the house was Nathan and his family…late once again. “Sorry we’re late. Traffic,” said Uncle Nathan.
“Well I guess we have everyone, let’s start the Small family reunion,” suggested Aunt Esther.
“Hey all you guys I almost forgot, mom and dad told me to read this note when we are all together” said Aunt Mary excitedly. “The letter says:

‘Dear Children,
For this small family reunion dad and I wish to give you this very valuable diamond. It’s in the orange envelope and it’s been in our family for three generations so care for it. This clear emerald colored diamond is worth $500,000,000.00. Now here is a list on what to do with it.
- Put it up high
- Secure it
- Don’t steal
- Care for it
- Be grateful
- Love it

Love,
Mom and Dad

P.S. Have fun and we love you all. P.P.S. Dad says hi.’

That’s it.”
“Well let’s see the diamond,” Uncle Thomas said very excitedly.
The envelope was orange of course and it was ok in size but no one cared about the envelope, they only cared about what was inside. Aunt Mary opened the envelope and pulled out the diamond. It was beautiful and everyone loved it. It had an emerald green color and its size was 3 inches wide and 4 inches long and its shape was octagonish.
So the aunts and uncles all passed the diamond around, then thinking of the list they put it back in the envelope and set it on the coffee table in the living room. Then each adult called up the kids so they all could go to lunch together. The kids weren’t all that excited and some adults had a more difficult time getting the kids together than others. Some of the younger babies were crawling around and walking around the room while Mary’s baby was still being held so was already there. Rachel’s twins were still in her belly so they were easy to gather too. The older kids had a hard time obeying.
“All right let’s go,” said Uncle Thomas. They all piled into their cars and went to the restaurant. Some of the families were a little late getting away from the house to leave to the restaurant.
When they came home they remembered to follow the list about the diamond and went to the envelope but the diamond was gone and the accusations began. Thomas accused Rachel of being greedy and that she was just trying to get all the money for herself. Rachel thought Thomas stole it because he lost his job and needed money. Mary accused Nathan because he was late leaving for the restaurant and Nathan accused Mary because he said Mary always wanted to buy expensive things. Joel also suspected Mary but Mary still just suspected Nathan. Rebecca and Esther accused Jeremy of stealing it because Jeremy always talked about buying a professional basketball team. Jeremy didn’t mind Esther and Rebecca because he was to busy beginning the first step of the investigation. He starts interviewing everyone. He is trying to see where everyone was at the time the diamond was stolen. Rachel interviewed Jeremy after his questioning was done. Every now and then the babies would come in the room and cry to their parents because they were tired or needed diapers changed but the parents wouldn’t listen.
The fighting between the family members ruined the reunion and nobody was acting like they cared about each other anymore. Each person started to threaten the other with lawsuits or other things to get the diamond back and someone even called the police. While they were doing this Jeremy and Rachel were working on the next step, which is using their information to eliminate suspects, but every time they are stuck with two at the end and they can’t decide. So the last thing they try to do before the police arrive is search the house. Everyone is looking in and out, up and down, and all around. Finally the babies were crying so much and nobody was listening that Daniel had to go take care of them. No one listened. They just kept fighting because they still couldn’t find the diamond. The doorbell finally rang and it was the police. They came in and tried to figure out what was going on.
Because some people were getting out of control, the police put handcuffs on everyone, except Daniel because he was tending the babies. He started to change the diapers and on the second one, mixed in with the yucky stuff in the diaper was an emerald green stone, not quite as shiny. Daniel used the baby wipes to clean off the stone, thought for a minute, while everyone is in jail for being so accusing of each other I could keep this, then he changed his mind and yelled over everyone else and held up the diamond surrounded in baby wipes and said, “I found it!!”
The whole family felt bad because they were accusing one another when everyone was innocent. The only thing was the baby thought it looked like candy and while everyone else was trying to get together to go to the restaurant the baby swallowed the diamond.
The police laughed and everyone apologized to each other. Because no one really stole the diamond, they decided they weren’t ready for it and sealed it back in the envelope and left it for mom and dad and figured they would worry about it at a later family reunion and they all lived happily ever after.
