Bethany's clot
Here's the story on Bethany:
Friday she wasn't feeling well and the pain in her chest and back got progressively worse as the day went on. After Hannah's concert that night, she & I both were inspired to take her to the emergency room. After doing blood tests, x-rays, & MRI they found a blood clot in her right lung. It is very serious, but she is stable. She has to stay in the hospital for at least 3-4 days until the clot starts breaking up and her symptoms are better. She is at Bellevue Medical Center in Bellevue, NE; she is in room #328. Hannah is spending the night with her tonight; we are taking turns so Bethany has round-the-clock family support from the 3 of us. Hannah isn't feeling too great either & it's finals week for me and Bethany. In other words, things are normal. ;-) Thank you for your calls, texts, and prayers.
Medical Alert: Spontaneous pulmonary embolism. Slow Heparin drip. Coumadin started today & will take for at least 6 months. Upgraded today to bed rest with bathroom privileges. Also off O2 today. No Vitamin K foods. Ultrasound showed no deep vein thrombosis of lower extremities. Morphine for pain.

Shauna, I am so glad you posted. We have been fasting and praying for Bethany!! We love her and all of your family!!!
Wow! I am so glad you are in a position to understand all the medical terminology, Shauna. We have been encouraged by Bethany's sweet, optimistic attitude, but we realize how serious this is and how it could become even more serious if the clot travels before they get it dissolved. Thank you for the update. Everyone is praying for her and we appreciate knowing about her situation and progress. We love you and all your family and I know Bethany is so thankful to have her loving family with her at this time.
