The years between 1740 and 1800 were a time of upheaval and dramatic change in England. Mad King George was on the throne, and the country was engaged in one war after another, first with Spain, then with France, and finally, with their own colonies in America. King George III was finally, forcibly retired, not deposed, and his son, George IV became regent, ruling in his stead. Slavery was still a major and profitable business until nearly 1780, and the factory age began with the first cotton mill. Handel's Messiah was performed for the first time during those years. The county of Somerset, the home of John and Mary Edwards, was on the southwest border of England, bordering the Bristol Channel of the Irish Sea. It was the home of Bath, one of the favorite destinations of those seeking to enjoy the healing waters. It was mostly a rural county of rolling hills, whose main industries were farming and mining, so, even though the times were turbulent, the setting for the birth of your ancestors was peaceful...probably somewhat like living in the Gila Valley during the turbulent 21st Century in the United States.
John Edwards is the father of Elizabeth Edwards, the mother of Thomas Biggs who was the clerk of the Lehi Company. There are so many John Edwards in that period of time, that I got lost, trying to decide which one is ours. Our John Edwards was born 1739 in Somerset, England, the son of Even Edwards (1713-<1760>) and Mrs. Even Edwards (1711-<1760>). I wonder how they know when she was born if they don't know her name. Oh well. As far as I can find out, John was their only child. John married Mary Brooks on February 19, 1759 in Somerset England. Mary was born in 1739, also Somerset, England to Samuel Brooks (1708-1741) and Mariam Snook (1706-1813.) Mary and John had 8 children, of which Elizabeth, Dad's great great grandmother was the youngest. John died in 1780, in Somerset, England and Mary died in 1820, also in Somerset, having lived as a widow for 40 years! 1760>1760>
<1760><1760>
1760>1760> ROSWELL CALVIN JUDD, LUCY PECK TROWBRIDGE
At the same time, in the Colonies, times were also turbulent and exciting. New Haven, Connecticut was a center of education, with the founding of Yale University, and of the conservative Congregational church. In fact, Connecticut became known as "the land of steady habits" for its political, social and religious conservatism. Connecticut played a major role in the war for Independence, its four delegates having all signed the Declaration of Independence. New Haven, among other Connecticut towns suffered heavy losses when it was burned out by British raids. New Haven Connecticut was the home of Noah Webster of dictionary fame, Eli Whitney, a famous inventor, and the adopted home of Mark Twain. It was also the home of Rosewell and Lucy Judd. They were born just a few short years after the Revolutionary War, which ended in 1787, so they lived in a place that was still suffering from the effects of that conflict, but whose citizens were fervently patriotic.
Roswell Calvin Judd is the father of Lucy Priscilla Judd, who is the mother of Alonzo Frank Bellamy, the father of Worth T Bellamy, the cowboy of Superior, who was Grandmother Nora's father. Roswell Calvin was born in New Haven, Connecticut, May 20, 1789 to Roswell Judd (1752-1818) and Lois Scott (1756-1784). He married Lucy Peck Trowbridge in 1810. Lucy was born June 15, 1796, also in New Haven, Connecticut. Her parents are William Trowbridge (1767-1824) and Lucy Peck (1768-1810). Lucy, Roswell's wife, is the 3rd of 6 children. She and Roswell Calvin had 9 children, of which Lucy Priscilla Judd, Dad's great great grandmother, is the 7th. Lucy died in 1835. You need to go to your Ellis and Nora Biggs book and trace Grandmother's line all the way to the end of the page and find "Lucy P." Change her name to Lucy Peck Trowbridge and her birthdate to 1796 and add her death date, which is 1835.
March is tied with June as our 2nd most prolific month for birthdays. And it's a good thing, too, because our March birthdays are really special.
Soren turned 11 on the 7th.
Esther's birthday was the 8th.
Jeremy and Erika's anniversary was the 9th.
Esther and Shad's anniversary was the 12th.
Jenn's birthday, pi day, was the 14th.
Seth's birthday, St. Patrick's Day, was the 17th.
Harvey turned 3 also on St. Patrick's Day.
Crew turned 17 on the 19th
Shauna's birthday was the 22nd.
Daniel's birthday was the 26th.
Emma turned 13 on the 29th.
Levi's birthday was the 31st...
...which is also Grandma Hiatt's birthday. This picture is from Easter, 1956, in our house on N. MacDonald in Mesa. This is where we lived when Dad was our Ward Teacher. I was 10-11 years old.
~OUR MARCH~
Ahh March. The traditional comes-in-like-a-lion-goes-out-like-a-lamb month. The first part of March was cold and rainy and windy, so that was the lion, and by the time the month was out, it was truly lamblike. We have had beautiful spring flowers all over town, heralding the end of an unusually wet and cold winter for us.
March has been exciting for our family too. We've had a new endowment, a Priesthood ordination, 3 cruises, and other trips inside and outside the country, as well as 10 birthdays.
These beautiful pictures of the sunrise over the eastern mountains and the sunset over the snowy western mountains are screenshots from videos by Rachel.
I love that March brings all the bright and cheerful African Daisies...Gazanias. I just read in a book that took place in Mesa, Arizona, of someone planting Gazanias. I Googled it and saw that Gazanias is the real name for African Daisies.

From Dad, the bird whisperer...A big red cardinal occasionally visits our window feed box. His plain, brown little mate likes the Hawaiian coconut feeder.
March 2nd was a red letter day because it is the day we finally cleaned out the storage building that Rachel and Tony have had for us for over 10 years! Mary set it up and everyone pitched in and helped us and it is such a load off our minds to have it empty. Thanks for your help, everyone.
We had to bring back some things to our house to go through, and we treated everyone to pizza for their hard work. Rachel and Mary moved porch furniture around to make room for the boxes and garbage cans. Rachel is stronger than she looks 💪
Thomas and Jenn invited us over for dinner that night, so we didn't even have to cook or clean up.
The next day, Rachel's family came for Sunday dinner. Isabel brought along her cute boyfriend, Logan Sherwood. Rachel brought brownies and pumpkin pie, so she texted everyone and bribed them with dessert to come over.
March was the month of the Rome Temple dedication at which every Apostle and member of the First Presidency were in attendance...an unusual gathering outside Church headquarters.
It was noted on social media that President Nelson met with the Pope on that occasion.
Allison and Taylor went to Mexico for Taylor's business and they left Harvey and Lucy with their grandparents. Scott came over to do something for Dad and he brought Harvey with him. The last time I saw Harvey, he had been a little standoffish, but this time he was so friendly and cute. He played with Grandma's toys and on Grandpa's playground and even invited me to jump on the trampoline with him...which I declined to do, regretfully.
On Friday, the 8th, Dad and I went to Gilbert where we attended the temple session at which Harrison received his endowment. It was Esther's birthday, so it was a doubly special day for her. We loved being in the temple with him and with other members of our family. Besides Esther and Shad's family, we had Rebecca, Scott, Jeremy, Rachel, Thomas, Jenn, as well as several members of Shad's family. Mary & Tyson were in Florida and Joel & Stephanie were in Thatcher to her nephew's wedding.
Esther and Shad invited everyone over after the temple for birthday cake and ice cream.
Happy, thankful grandparents
Rebecca and Scott and Thomas and Jenn stayed at Lydia Friday night. We are so glad that we now have a place big enough to accommodate more people.
Rebecca and Scott and their little ones stayed at Lydia for the next few days, until Allison returned from Mexico.
So, of course, it was the gathering place. Rachel and her kids had been staying with Esther, but visited at Lydia from time to time.
Lillian's father-in-law is a doctor in Cedar City and she works at his clinic for a dermatologist. She was so interested in the chemo treatment we were doing for Dad's head and gave some expert advice. She said her doctor always tells patients to put vaseline on the sores after the treatments. So we have been doing that.
The kids have been enjoying the Lydia pool. It is heated, so comfortable swimming, even in winter.
Harvey opened his birthday card early so I could see him open it. He celebrated being 3 years old the next weekend.
On Saturday, some of the kids went to a berry smoothie place for lunch. Dad and I dropped by to see what it was all about, then went with Rebecca's group to "Raising Cane," a strictly chicken and fries kind of place. The only unique thing about it was the dipping sauce, which was really good.
Saturday night, we were having a hard time deciding where to eat, except Bridger and Luke were determined to go to "Raising Cain" (Cane?) Anyway, it was finally decided the rest of us would go to Matta's Grill and that Rachel would take the boys to Cain's. It turned out to be a sad misunderstanding, though. Rachel thought she was just going to drop the boys off and meet us back at Esther's and then go with us to Matta's. We thought she was going to eat with the boys. I tried calling her to see what she was doing, but she didn't answer her phone, and it turned out that she stayed at Esther's all alone while we had a good time at Matta's. I got her a couple of tacos and a tostada but I don't think they made up for how badly she felt and how badly the rest of us felt about the whole misunderstanding too.
On Sunday, we went to Jeremy and Erika's ward, where Tayte was presented to be sustained as an Elder. Then we went to Joel and Stephanie's for Sunday dinner. Levi and Crew were there, of course, and Stetson and Lindsay and darling little Junie came as well.
Later that evening, we went to Jeremy and Erika's for Tayte's ordination to the Melchezidek Priestood. Standing in the circle, adding Priesthood power and authority, were Jeremy, who was voice, Daynen, Dad, their bishop and a high councilor.
Happy, thankful grandparents, yet again.
Tayte with his brothers; with his sisters.
On Monday, we ate lunch at Chick Fil-A.
And that night, Esther invited everyone over for a "Masa Monday." The food was so good and it was especially good to be with kids and grandkids.
We saw this little group as we pulled up to Esther's house.
Masa Monday. Joel and Stephanie were back in town, so they, Levi and crew were able to come, along with Jeremy, Erika and their girls and Hayden, Rachel and her kids...even including the elusive Rylie...who was there for work reasons, and, of course, Esther's family.
On Tuesday, we all went to see Captain Marvel. It was pretty good, but I have to say I would have enjoyed watching a handsome male Captain Marvel more than a pretty female Captain Marvel. Dad and I disagreed about whether she looked more like Isabel or Rachel.
We came home on Wednesday, and Thomas and Jenn invited us over for meatballs. Dad never turns down meatballs, even if he's tired. They were delicious.
On the 17th, St. Patrick's Day, we invited Rachel, Mary and Thomas to dinner. Thomas and Jenn were having dinner with her brother to celebrate their Irish heritage, but Rachel's and Mary's families came. We had meatloaf and green jello.
Rachel made up this intinerary for our upcoming trip to General Conference with their family. It looks like it will be very full and a lot of fun. When we used to take you to conference we only stayed a couple of days and had to drive both ways, but it still felt as if we had plenty of time in SLC to enjoy the spirit of conference. I'm getting excited to spend some quality time with Rachel's family as we attend April Conference.
On Saturday, the 23rd, Tom went with Tyson to Tucson, Davis-Monthan Airforce Base, to watch Thunder and Lightning Over Arizona. Tyson was taking his Scouts and Dad went along as the second leader. He said he had a great time. And he took a lot of pictures!!! When I ask him to take pictures at a family event, he is always willing to do it, and will take 4 or 5 pictures, which is usually just perfect, but at this event he took 90 pictures, 80 of which were videos :-D
While they were gone, their little boys came to play and enjoyed the sunny weather with the bubbles their mom brought for them.
Then later than afternoon, the little boys and the girls came over to swim. Yes, swim. I warned them that it would be too cold, because the heater has been broken, but they wanted to try. Mostly they just waded on the steps, but Lindsay and Jared got brave and jumped all the way in. Then they hurried to get out and wrap up in a dry towel. I think now they'll be willing to wait until it warms up a little.
On Sunday, the 24th, Thomas asked me to say a few words at the Stake's Liahona fireside.
Thomas is the stake YM president, and they are extending the award to the Young Men and their leaders as well as to YW and their leaders. I am so glad. The Liahona program, a program at Girls' Camp, has been close to my heart ever since I was stake YW president in 1992-96ish. We redesigned an already existing program to more closely follow the pattern of the original Liahona: to give direction by faith. It has been continued and tweaked, by succeeding presidencies through the years, but it is still encouraging young people to examine their lives and strengthen their communication with the Lord, and live their lives according to His inspiration.
That afternoon, the Biggs and Richins families came over and visited.
Tennis has started and Kirtlyn, a freshman, is playing on the Safford High School team. She is just a beginner, but when I watched her play against Thatcher, I was impressed by her determination not to give up and to play her best. Thomas is volunteering as an assistant coach for the team.
So...scorpion season has started! :-{ Mary found this little critter after it had come through a small gap in the threshold of our front door. She killed it for me. Thankfully, Scott replaced the threshold for us and it is now gap-free, but his parting words were "You can't keep them out no matter what you do. They can always find a way in."
We have had fun this month watching our grandchildren in their youth play, James and the Giant Peach. They were not in the same cast this time, so we went two different days. They were all so cute and did a great job.
We also enjoyed watching Isabel compete in Gila Valley Idol. She sang so beautifully. We were very proud of her. In fact, every contestant was amazing! I don't know how they were able to choose five out of the 20 to be the winners unless they had pre-decided based on past experience with those particular ones or their parents. Then if those chosen ones didn't mess up, they were in. There were a couple that were unique like a black Gospel singer and a young man who sang "Cry Me a River" instead of a modern song, and who got in the top five, but all the others were so equally talented.
Dad taught the 5th Sunday lesson about finances. He did a great job, of course.
NEWS FROM AROUND THE FAMILY
~NATHAN AND SHAUNA~
Omaha had a lot of snow at the beginning of March, captured in Josh's "Preservationist Pics."
There was so much snow, in fact, that the city sent dump trucks to clear the roads and haul it away. These trucks were in front of Nathan's house, and the wild turkeys were just behind it.
As an early anniversary celebration, Nathan and Shauna took their whole family on a Hawaiian cruise. They sent some fantastic pictures, and I have no idea of the correct order of them, but I know they spent some time on Oahu before they boarded their ship for the other islands. It looks like Jovie had a great time, as I'm sure everyone else did too...especially Hannah. I'm sure it touched her heart to be back where she served her mission. What a fabulous way to spend your anniversary-in Hawaii with the people you love.
~JOEL AND STEPHANIE~
Relaxing after Sunday dinner.
The many faces of Junie
Levi and Crew went to Orlando for music festivals, and though it looks like fun (and I'm sure it was) it was also a lot of work.
Joel was asked to be chairman for the East Valley Prayer Breakfast that was held in Gilbert this year. All the mayors in the East Valley and religious leaders have this breakfast every year and they rotate the cities in which it is held. Gilbert's mayor asked Joel to be in charge this year.
Levi's birthday cake from friends.
~DANIEL AND CONNIE~
Shannyn posted these pictures of a stake youth activity.
Everybody loves Rosie. She's like a cuddly, happy toy.
Aila and a friend at the public library, children's section.
Emma got her ears pierced.
Connie was involved in their ward's Relief Society homemaking, enrichment, etc. meeting, with a lot of fun activities and crafts. I think she said that Shannyn designed the flyer for it.
For Spring break, the Colorado Biggs family took a trip to St. Louis to visit Devynne and her family. They took a side excursion to Branson.
In St. Louis with Devynne and Brock's family
I just have to quote Connie: "Rosena loves her Papa! And oh how he loves her back!"
I think she loves her Grandma too. I don't know what they call Connie, but I can see that Rosie looks like she feels secure and welcome on her lap.
Quoting Connie again: "Theo plays monster trucks with his Papa that he adores! He gets so excited to be with Daniel."
St. Louis Zoo
Daniel celebrated his 50th birthday while he was in St. Louis. His "Amazing Connie Cake" was a monster truck, smashing little cars. Theo loved it and cried when they cut it up to eat. Aila looks as though she's ready to eat it though.
Emma became a teenager the day they got back to Colorado. Her mom made her a sugar-cookie-cake because one of Emma's favorite treats is a frosted store-bought sugar cookie with sprinkles. The bottom picture is because it was snowing when she was born and again on her 13th birthday.
Shadrach and friends at the Sri Sri Rahda Krishna Temple High Color Festival in Spanish Fork.
~REBECCA AND SCOTT~
Rebecca and Scott took a little trip to California, at the first of the month, where they picked up a van for Scott and Polly's new carpet cleaning venture. They spent a couple of relaxing days on the beach and driving home.
They got back to Lydia and helped Polly move into the house, also in Cooley Station, that she is sharing with some nice, friendly spinsters. Polly, at 19, is the baby of the group that ranges in age from 26-33 or so.
These are pictures of Dallin and Sara and Parley when they were visiting her mother.
Allison and Taylor and his parents and brother went to Mexico on a business/pleasure trip. They left Harvey and Lucy with Rebecca and Scott.
Rebecca and Scott enjoyed grandparenthood.
At Lydia. Allison came to Gilbert from Mexico and left Taylor to work with his dad. Lillian and Kelin came to Gilbert to spend some time with her family, and then went with them to Palm Springs. I think they enjoyed the amenities that our big house afforded them, to all be together in one place. Scott (and Harvey) even went around and tightened things up for us.
Harvey even celebrated his 3rd birthday there.
Enjoying the Valley of the Sun. A little different weather from Cedar City and Washington State, even though it was cooler than usual here.
Polly and Scott wanted to attend a tennis tournament in Palm Springs, so the whole family went there to enjoy the fabulous March weather with them.
Lillian and Kelin fooling around at Gunlock State Park.
~JEREMY AND ERIKA~
Erika and Jeremy are creating a garden showplace in their back yard.
Daynen, working on a film
And clowning around in front of the camera as well.
At Jeremy and Erika's house for Tayte's ordination. Yes, the guy on the couch with him and Hayden is a guy.
Thankful and happy parents. What a happy day.
They are doing so many projects to make their house a showplace. It's amazing the changes they are making, mostly by themselves.
This is the workshop in which all the magic happens. I think Erika actually made that beautiful shelf herself.
One of the main things I miss about Mesa...citrus blossoms in the spring. Oh, the glorious smell. I can almost smell them in this beautiful picture from Daynen.
Jori at her baby shower with the blanket I made for their baby girl. Also with her great Aunt Anita Cox Farnsworth. Anita (and Carolyn) is her grandpa Bruce's sister.
Jeremy and Ellie went to Chicago for some FAME events and took the opportunity to visit some of Chicago's most important places...The Temple, where they did baptisms...
And the theater where they saw Hamilton.
With some of the actors.
They stayed in a hotel overlooking Trump Towers and Ellie loved the view from her room.
At the airport waiting to go home. They attended a Spanish Ward that day because it was close to the airport and its meeting time made it possible to catch their flight.
~RACHEL AND TONY~
After Sunday dinner, enjoying dessert.
Rachel and her kids stayed with Esther while they were in Gilbert for Harrison's endowment.
They had a chance to enjoy Allison's darling kids, especially Lucy.
A wedding photographer wanted pictures of Rylie and Brandon to use in advertising her business. She even provided the dress and the bouquet.
Camille and Brynlie and Big Bird
Brynlie has been taking very artistic photos lately. The top left one, is by Soren of her, however.
Isabel went to Rocky Point with Logan's family and some friends.
Brynlie tripped over the threshold to her house and fractured her foot in three places! She is wearing a boot for 6 weeks. Mary and her kids gave her a candy gram. I'm sure that went farther toward curing her than our medicinal milkshake...blizzard.
Isabel watched a youtube video about bleaching hair and figured she was expert enough to do her mother's hair. I can't believe Rachel let her...but Isabel can be very persuasive, I know. Anyway, Rachel ultimately resorted to the beauty shop where she got it fixed.
On the 29th, Isabel competed in the Gila Valley Idol. She was amazing! We were so proud of her.
Of course, her boyfriend, Logan Sherwood, was there to cheer her on as well as her family, Tyson and Mary, Thomas and Jenn, her Nonni (Darlene) and her great grandmother, and her Biggs grandparents, all beaming with pride of our little Isabel.
~ESTHER AND SHAD~
Pinewood Derby
Marlie's guitar recital. She was so amazingly good. The guitar was good, of course, but her voice was amazing.
Marlie and friends
Harrison and Shad leaving the Distribution Center after buying clothes for the Temple, etc.
Soren's 11th birthday
Whenever singers are around, they like to corral Harrison to play for them. It is a beautiful thing to watch...and listen to.
Esther's birthday.
Harrison at Matta's
Soren and Big Bird
Marlie had to teach a YW lesson.
We had dinner at PF Chang's for Esther and Shad's anniversary.
Shad's parents left right after that to report to the MTC for their mission to New Zealand.
An invitation to Marlie for the Prom
Esther and Shad also went on a Hawaiian cruise for their anniversary in March. They, too, spent a little time in Oahu before boarding the ship. These pictures may not be in the right order, but they give a good representation of their amazing trip.
They had an extra day in Honolulu after their cruise, so they went to the USS Arizona Memorial.
On Sunday, the 31st, they attended church at the Hawaiian Tabernacle. Dad and I went there once and it is so beautiful. Very historic. Joseph F. Smith dedicated it, so it is old. It is where most of the native Hawaiians in Honolulu go to church. The next time we went, Hannah was serving there and it was where she attended church, so she asked that we go somewhere else. We went to a more modern ward building overlooking Pearl Harbor.
This is a picture we took of it in 2009.
Prom dress shopping. Gorgeous!
~THOMAS AND JENN~
They brought Chic-Fil-A to eat at Lydia before Thomas and Jenn left to go to the Temple with Harrison.
Jenn's birthday
Her birthday post
A family picture on St. Patrick's Day
Dad hired Hyrum to be the popsicle manager. He is taking the job seriously and has given it some very much needed control...as well as keeping the papers picked up and the freezer clean and stocked.
I went to watch Kirtlyn play a tennis match against Thatcher. She is just a beginner, but I can already see some good potential. One thing I was impressed with was that even when she was down 5-0, she didn't give up. She stepped up her game and won the next 3 games. Good job, Kirtlyn.
El Charro was hired to cater the "Pride of Safford" luncheon on the 27th, although they wanted the menu to be luau appropriate instead of Mexican. Thomas recruited his wife and sisters to help so that it was a fabulous spread, fabulously presented.
EAC has a Polynesian club, from which the organization found Haka and Hula dancers.
After James and the Giant Peach. They were so cute and seemed to be having a lot of fun. Hyrum was James' father, a reporter and part of the angry crowd; Henry was a member of the cruise crowd; and Maya was one of the garden club ladies. Jenn helped back stage.
Thomas let Ethan play with his watch when they were here for a Sunday visit on the 31st. Ethan thinks those iwatches are game devices that are just his size.
~MARY AND TYSON~
Alex copies whatever Jared does, even climbing high in the pine tree.
Brianna had the lead roll in her school play, and needed a red princess dress. Mary found one at the thrift store, sewed a bolero to it and voila! a perfect costume for the part.
They took Lindsay and Jared on an Edward Jones Disney cruise, spending a couple of days in Orlando before they embarked. They loved Harry Potter and the alligators.
Jared got to help in the filming of Fear Factor. He was making it rain on a car.
Boarding the ship
Enjoying the cruise.
Face painters at the airport
Dad got Carson, with a little help from Brianna and Brynlie to put together the trike he bought for his backyard playground.
At Thunder and Lightning Over Arizona
Alex and Ethan enjoying the magic of bubbles
On Grandpa's playground
Playing in the freezing water
Treasure box squirt fish
After James and the Giant Peach. Jared was a reporter, Lindsay, with the main part of the play, was the mean, wicked aunt Spiker, and Alex, his very first play, was a shark. They were all very good, and I have to say that Lindsay was by far the best actor and one of the two that spoke loudly enough to be heard. Jared and Alex were definitely the cutest of their respective groups.
At Gila Valley Idol, Tyson was one of the sponsors, so we got seats in the front. Reid Richins, who emceed the show, is a cousin of Tyson's and came to say "Hello." They noticed that they were wearing the exact same shirt.
Carson, mowing the lawn on Dad's tractor-mower. He went over and mowed the lot across the street as well.
~MISSIONARIES~
From Docker in Boston
We have heard from Albert via email, and he is doing great. He is happy and working hard and having success, but not taking pictures.
~SOMETHING TO MAKE YOU SMILE~
Really, read all of this.
This may be the only way I'll every be able to do it :-{
Alex makes a perfect reverence child, especially if you follow his example and sing with all your heart.
I saved this picture for Dad.
On the Sunday we had dinner with Joel and Stephanie, Junie was entertaining us by blowing raspberries against the table. Stetson got the perfect shots. Actually, this doesn't just make me smile, it makes me chuckle out loud.
I believe this!
I thought it was so cute that Harvey was watching cartoons through his Batman(?) mask.
I think this crazy picture was taken in a wax museum.
The most beautiful of all the spring flowers! Ethan saw this costume in the toy cupboard and wanted to wear it.
If you can read the caption on this picture, it should make you smile. Oh yes. No matter what confusion and stress you are facing in your life, it can't be as crazy as this!
I think all you cruisers and vacationers can relate to this picture from Bethany. When it feels overwhelming, think of the 50 lane highway in China (above).
~LAST WORDS~
Every six months, I anxiously await General Conference. For some reason, I feel my spirit flagging and know that listening to the words of our leaders will boost my faith and determination to be closer to my Heavenly Father. As conference approaches, I start praying for help and advice and I know that over the years, my prayers have been answered. I inevitably hear just exactly what I have prayed to hear. Conference is just next week, but it is not too late to ask the Lord to inspire someone to answer your question or speak about your problem. Then listen carefully. You will hear what you need to hear.
April is also the month we celebrate the resurrection of our Savior and the organization of His church. As you enjoy family activities at these times, please share them with us through pictures. Rachel and I will share our trip to General Conference, so watch for it on the April blog. Dad and I are really looking forward to it, to being with them and to feeling the spirit of the occasion.
P.S. I know it is a lot of reading, but read the stories of your ancestors. They are worth your time. It is because of them that you are here and that you enjoy the blessings of freedom and of the Gospel.

Excellent blog this month Grandma! You never cease to amaze me with your writing skills (I love all your captions to the pictures).
