The Departure

Hey everyone,

First of all a big thankyou to Erika for putting this together, I think this will be awesome to keep us connected. One thing though, no one can make fun of my spelling. :-)

All of the Safford kids and mom and dad had a nice breakfast and a touching farewell on Thursday August 24th. We each took family pictures with m&d and the funniest thing was Isabel. She was done with all of the comotion and wanted to watch her film in the car. She was standing very paitiently in the picture, and then all of a sudden she left. Most of the snaps we took were of her on her way out. She has got a cute little attitude. Luke and Bridger are two of a kind with their trains. If one boy has a train that the other doesn't then it's mayham (dewitt just told me to say that word).

Anyway...As mom and dad pulled away DeWitt, Lillian and Rylie were running along side of the car. We were all standing in the middle of the street waving. (Jen's little neices were watching and wondering what we were doing). It was sad, we just all looked at eachother and wondered what to say or do next. Scott was next to leave, so we stood in the street again and waved which broke the spell and we all went to our normal activities. I think the night before was more tearful for me, becuase I was able to recieve a father's blessing and that 10 minute period was one of the most spiritual experiences I have recieved. I know that the spirit was speaking through dad, because he told me things that only Heavnly Father knows. I love you dad..

DeWitt has also had a tearful parting, and it is very sweet.

The blessings are already pouring from heaven, because of our parents service. For the past 3 nights it has rained through the night until about 7:00. I'm proud of our parents and I thinthat they are a great example for our kids. We had a returned missionary couple speak in our ward to went to Africa. The lady got real sick and thought that it was malaria. She said that she got down on her knees and told Heavenly Father to listen to the prayers of her grandchildren, and she got better. So mom and dad. Your grandchildren have a direct link and with their faith you are set for a great experience. We all love you. DeWitt has already had a great experience with e-mail. He said that this next school year is going to be his hardest and is so glad that he can write to mom and dad and get their advice.
