I just finished reading the Narnia series. I also read "The Count of Monte Cristo" - our book club Oct. selection. This is the only instance where I think the movie is way better than the book. I was disappointed, especially after reading 1462 pages!
I also remembered that one of our other selections was "The Prizewinner of Defiance, OH" - very good. I haven't been doing very well; my family is having some problems that have rocked my world. I need to get back on track exercising & not eating junk food and escaping into books - starting Monday... ;-)

Also, I loved the book, "The Count of Monte Cristo," except for the way it ends. In that, I will have to agree. I am all for happy endings.
The problems Shauna is having with her family are not with me and the kids. There are some things going on with the Finchers that are difficult. Shauna's dad has been in and out of the hospital. He is trying to balance out a combination of physical and emotional challenges that have been hard on him, and have affected Shauna too since she is the only child of theirs living close to them.
As far as our own family, we are doing fine. Work is still having challenges of its own, but I have deals I am working on that will close in December that will give us a record year. The new deals give us hope, but it is the getting there that remains hard.
