The reunion this year was great, as always. It was so relaxing not to be in charge! Jan and Kent were our leaders and they did a great job...

Hi everyone,
here are some pictures from our trip to Colorado. We had the time of our lives. I must say that Daniel and Connie wined and dined us (ok, not wined). If anyone is thinking about visiting it is well worth it! Our kids had a lot of fun reconnecting with their cousins and Crew and Shannyn became fast friends (Worth the trip!). We had snowball fights, made snowmen, and skiied sp?. The winter was fun to see. On the way home we got caught in a snow storm in Vail. The road was white, it was snowing hard, and the wind was blowing, and Joel was driving -- Can you say PANIC ATTACK? I thought I would die for sure, but we made it back to the heat. The pictures are of all of us together, Stetson snowboarding, Devynne and Levi skiing, Docker snowboarding, and the rest I think you can see. I noticed that Joel didn't blog a picture of him. It was quite a sight. Joel really enjoyed skiing with Daniel. We should all meet up there next year and have a family ski trip -- it is condusive to all ages. Crew stayed in the day care and loved it! They fed him lunch, took him for a ride on the ski lift, and then saw a guy buried in the snow and a dog rescue him -- in case of avalanche.
Thank you colorado Biggs, we had a super time and hope to get up there during the summer months sometime. Our kids were begging to stay just one more day but we needed to get home. Next time though, we'll stay longer.

So Cool! That is great of you to go to CO. Blog a picture of Joel surounded by the snowy cloud of smoke from his "sick" fall. I would love to see that. Steph did you ski? I love the idea of a family ski vacation. You boys that board need to show me how.
Rach
that sounds so awesome. When did you guys go? You'll have to come and visit the Safford Biggs' sometime....
You all look like professional skiiers (sp)
Sounds like a great idea - how about next Thanksgiving? I mean, the one this year. We had our car break down & Bethany got altitude sickness, so we're ready for a "funner" trip. There wasn't snow to ski when we went for Thanksgiving, but I'm sure that was abnormal. We still had fun; Daniel's family is great!
I wish I had a video of Albert's crash. Porter, Albert and I were skiing along and Albert crossed a run boundary (run was closed) to take a jump on a rail and didn't realize that the snow hadn't been packed so as he approached the jump he just vanished. The snow swallowed him whole. Porter skiied in to help him out but it was a little wierd to see him there one moment and gone the next. We had a great laugh and he was happy to have a best crash of the day... - Daniel
I didn't ski because I thought that I was going to have to be messing with Crew so I didn't even take any skiing gear, you know coat, hat, ski pants, etc. But now that I know Crew can be taken care of maybe I'll go next time. Shauna, we had a hard time acclimatiting (sp_) to the altitude as well. I had a terrible headache our first two days!
Steph
I forgot to tell Shannyn that I was proud of her for facing the camera and actually smiling & liking it! But it does look like she might need to go to the bathroom...hee hee. Good job, Shannyn! Now we'll know how beautiful you were when you get older & look back on these pictures.
Hey Daniel-
I was just thinking, maybe we should have gotten the rescue dog out to find Albert. We could have brought all the kids up to watch a real rescue. Ha, ha
I'm sure Albert would have been happy to wait while we gathered the audience to watch the dog in action. At least he could tell the story about the avalanche dog digging him out and impress a lot of people and he could just leave out the part that he wasn't buried by an avalanche.
Also I can't say how happy I was to see Crew and Shannyn hit it off so well. Shannyn has been drawing hearts with her and crew in them since you left. - Daniel
Thank you for the pictures. You all look so cooold! But it sounds like the skiing was good enough to make up for it. We're glad to see some of you getting together for things. Especially when you let us in on it!
I love the first picture of the whole family. Devynne you are beautiful!
Thanks so much Rachel!
