These insect-looking windmills dot most of the hillsides in Portugal. They are almost like sentinals, guarding the land. I try not to think of them as insects. It's too unnerving.
Isn't this so picturesque? The small windmill in front is just a "brinceiro," for the children, the miller said. That is his camper beside the mill. He was outside watering flowers when we went by. He said that people often stop to see it. He was very friendly.
Sorry this is sideways. But it gives you an idea of the scale.

Are we supposed to know who Paula is? That is some good crochet; tatting is becoming a lost art. Those windmills are all over KS & CA, the 2 states that I know of. I'm going to blog later; I feel bad that you are the only ones keeping us posted. I've been told I can't blog without pictures, so I have to wait for that. Good to hear from you.
love the pictures!!
Everyone here often asks how you two are doing. most recently Rick and Linda Welker, Sister Hancock, The neihbor that didn't even know you were out of the country nor on a "mission for our church" the other neihbor across the street from you. Tim and Darlene,Carol and Dave Konoponicki, Terri Joe Bingham. The Binghams got in a car accedent this past week coming home from the temple. They are OK. Pres. Bingham fell asleep and hit the mountain side when they were aproaching the bridge between Superior and top of the world. The last person I can think of is Marge Hansen music teacher from St. Johns she was here for her grand son's music concert. She and her husband just returned from Mexico before that they served in Nauvo. She was excited to hear you were in Portugal.
I hope I explained about Paula in the newsletter, but in case I was as vague as usual, she is the semi-retarded mother of a teenaged investigator. But as far as crochet goes, she is truly savant.
