All that was great but the 4th was amazing. We invested this year in a wheel of 4000 firecrackers that when lit seemed to go for 10 minutes. I'm sure it wasn't that long but the popping was incessent. Josh and I decided right then that 4000 just seemed to not be the right amount. Next year we're going for the roll of 16000. If you look behind the picture of Emma in the hat you can see the debris from the roll of 4000.
The 4th at their home cannot be described adequitely. You may think going to a big stadium to watch fireworks is impressive but you've not seen anything until you've seen their whole town lit up in fireworks. The second short video attached shows some of the fireworks in the background to give you a little idea. I think the best thing was after we lit the 4000 firecrackers and began setting up our show we had spectators stop on the sidewalk accross the street, sit down and prepare for what had to be one of the greatest shows in town.
Shauna seemed to think of every detail from all the 4th buttons, fans, nail polish, bomb pops and even a pre-show water fight. I didn't understand then what she was doing but after watching the videos it came to me. We all got soaked just before the show so as sparks and flares flew we were just a little less flamible. The girls all had their nails painted in Stars and Strips by Connie and while this picture doesn't show it well, Devynne shows some of the toes close up...maybe too close.
Emma looking like baby new year.
A couple of short YouTube videos that give you just a brief idea of what we experienced.
Hope to see more of you there next year. Hopefully Mom and Dad too. - Daniel

Good blog, Daniel! .
Next year we are going to have matching t-shirts & Devynne wants to do flip flops. We need some more flashing pins, which I'm going shopping for today & other clearance stuff. I thought also some bandannas for the boys (?). Let me know your ideas before you forget them. Good times!
The youtube videos are good, but I got to say it is way better live.

you know i think i had the bomb diggity nails in that picture i actually did my fingers by myself. my daddy let me light off all of the "cool" fireworks. i guess i am very loved
Bethany
PS- cant wait to see you daniel biggs fam @ thanx giving
looks like a "BLAST"!!
They actually let you light those big one's from your front yard? We have to smuggle them in to Az and then go out to the secluded Artisia to blast them, mostly just sparklers, and colored smoke bombs. :)
All I have to say is WOW!!! We'll be there for sure next year. Save me some glow in the dark earrings!
I had the same first reaction. We were actually loading mortar grenades in cannons for last year and I was amazed that these were legal. We've learned that Missouri is the real place to buy the giant mortars but the police were stopping every car as they crossed the border. Even still the ones we had were spectacular and in my opinion just as good. With what we've learned over the last couple of years we'll have this show pretty refined. Nathan has the "shrewdness of an Arab trader" which benefited us greatly. He and I purchased so much artillery together that after we paid they gave us the pick of anything we wanted in their stock. I grabbed a 320, 200 grain per shot artillery battery which looks strikingly like patriot missile battery that we started the show with. While the rest of the town was shooting off their one and two shot mortars, we lit this thing and in a matter of seconds 320 shots went into the air and suddenly, I think there was a pause of respect from the surrounding rookies for the real show that had just begun. – Daniel
Hey, I got to light the cool big fireworks too, and I also did my nails by myself and gave you your idea for your nails. Anyway it was a blast and I loved it, I just really wished you all could have been there, I missed you all! So what did everyone else do for the 4th of July?
-Devynne
