HAIRSPRAY/Fun in the Rain

We went to the movie Hairspray with all the girls here for the 24th of July Celebration. So Me, Jenn, Esther, Rachel, and Rebecca and their girls. Jenn and I weren't brave enough to take our little girls. Polly and I were the main girl, Isabel and Marlie the best friend, and Ry and Lil were both the stuck up girl. (they both made their own skirts!)
So we all dressed up except for the "BORING" aunts, but the rest of us had fun ;)
And then on the actual day of the 24th celebration it poured! So much for the parade.

We did have a lot of fun!! The girls loved it.

And everyone that worked so hard on the parade. The floats were ruined. But they were just gratful for the rain that it didn't dampen any of the fun of the day, people still went to the B-BQ and walked around and visited in the rain. Then everyone came to Mom and Dad's and watched the fire works.

All the girls look so cute! If hairspray is as cute as those girls, I just have to see it when we get home. I saw a little bit of an Oprah where they were talking about the movie and she was just raving about it. I know the old movie with Ricky Lake and Warren Beatty didn't get that much attention. I don't even remember if it had a racial issue in it at all. It seems like it was all about her being overweight.
