WE HAD AN AWESOME WEEKEND AT STATE TENNIS!! THANKYOU TO THOSE WHO CAME. This is the first year that they combined 3A and 2A so we knew that when is came to state we would meet up with some of the smaller metro christian schools that play USTA and have their own private coaches and such. The competition throughout the season was not a whole lot to talk about, but state was another story. Allison and Dallin both made it to the semi s. The match before that for Dallin, he played a real belly acher. It's kind of fun to watch. The kid would hit his raquet on the ground, on the net and on the fencing. He would argue every call and with all that our very calm and collected Dallin just played his game, and beat the sorry son of a gun. I had several parents compliment Dallin on his patience and how he held it all together. Allison played a girl in the semi s who was favored in her bracket, but Allison reigned and was a beautiful player. I often heard in the crowd. "Is that the girl from Safford?" It's fun being the parent. Dallin played a strong USTA player for the semi's. It was an awesom match and Dallin really upset the kid, by giving him some real competition. Allison played an awesome finals match against a girl that she has played in USTA tournaments. Allison was so smooth and played hard and very competetively, but lost. She came off smiling, because she knew that she did great. Dallin played for 3rd and 4th. He played right after his big match with the other kid and he played great, but after 3 hours and 3 sets and a tie breaker he came in 4th. The Thatcher team stayed and yelled and supported us through the whole thing. Allison said that it is much better having them on her side. They were great! Thanks to Grandpa and Grandma, and to Mary and Elizabeth for coming, it's always fun to see family. We are so proud of Allison and Dallin, they really gave it all they had, and had great success.

Is that Mary by Dal w/dark hair? I never would've recognized her. She's changed since the last time we saw her.
Congrats to Dallin & Allison - going to State is a great accomplishment. But it looks awfully hot, even without playing tennis.
Thanks for posting!
We were so proud to be the grandparents of two great kids who played incredible tennis. I wasn't even tempted to break out a book to read! It was that absorbing. The level of tennis these two played was what you would expect to see on tv in world class competitions. They awesome...ewsome too!
I hope you both realize its AMAZING what you do and it blows my mind away how well you did. Congrats to you both!
