I took some grocery store pics so you could see some interesting things. You already saw the stacks of bacalhau. This is the milk aisle. They don't refigerate it. It is sold in sealed boxes off the shelf.We buy 8 boxes at a tme, put two in the fridge and keep the rest on the shelf.
Eggs are also sold right off the shelf. In fact, when people buy them, they even store them in pantries instead of refrigerators.
This is Obidos. It is about 5 minutes from our house. It is probably the most ancient castle in Portugal...maybe in Europe. It consists of a relatively small main castle, with walls surrounding a tiny, picturesque village.
Here is Dad, standing on the castle wall. The main building is behind him. I think it has been converted into a very expensive bed & breakfast.
This is a picture of the ancient village built inside those walls. People live in these buildings and most of them have little gift shops or restaurants on the bottom floors. This is where the chocolate festival will be held in Nov.

I won't talk to you about enjoying the fish any more. If I was faced with the horrible looking fish (that was in your e-mail) I wouldn't eat it either. yuck!! And scary about the eggs. It is really neat to see the landscape, it looks so beautiful there.

It seems just like a movie. Not even real. Im glad you get to experience that.
