Yesterday we went to Apple Annies pumpkin patch and apple orchard. (Lillian stayed for Rylie's birthday party) We had such a great time. Everyone got to cut their own pumkin and then we had a hamburger picnic in the orchard.
It seems that I haven't said much about my kids and their goings ons... Allison is taking piano from a very tough teacher, who insists that she learn the classics, but is doing very well. She takes voice lessons, and is a couple of weeks away from driving. She also has some pressure to ask someone to frolic, because she will be 16 and 2 weeks when it's time for the dance.
Dallin, is taking a wood carving class at EAC and even got to carve at the fair with his teacher. I'll send pictures of that, because it also shows, Jer and Er & fam, Mary & Tyson, & fam & Rachel & Tony & fam. He is taking art lessons from a very talented artist man in our ward. He is currently painting with acrilycs, but has worked with other mediums as well. He is also taking piano lessons again, and is our best practicer.
DeWitt, is loving middle school, he is such a social person and so he makes each day fun. He has just become very intersted in the guitar. He bought an electric guitar with amp. and speaker. He has been teaching himself so far. He loved it when we went to Pine, because Brint and Ben had their guitar and they were showing DeWitt and thing or two, he wants a not electric one for Christmas ( I don't know what you call them.) and he also wants to take lessons. We just need to find someone. He is taking voice lessons right now and is completly loving it. His teacher lets him pick his own songs, and so he picks songs that he can use in his band, which he is working on putting together. He is working hard on scouts and is moving right up the badge ladder. He is really excited that he is growing taller. I told him not to worry that before long he will be taller than Scott. He can make any situation fun and knows all the funny lines perfectly, voice and all from all the dorky movies.
Lillian is in 4th grade and is in a singing group, and is taking piano lessons. Polly is in 2nd grade and is also in the singing group. They make a pretty good doubles team. They can take anyone on in the family, including Scott and beat them. The rules are different as well as the ball. But they do a funny little victory dance. They are the best of friends, and they have 4 little dogs to love and to take care of, which they do so great. They hate it when they are seperated, but can drive us all crazy when their together with all of their giggles.

Happy Birthday Riley! Your a great cuz and one of my best friends! Cute pictures sounds like you guys had alot of fun! I'm sad I wasn't there.:( But here you grow your pumpkins or buy them at City Market.

Allison, I some good ideas to ask someone to frolic (ways to ask, not people to ask). Call me and I'll tell you about them.
Brother Welker, Scott's dad taught him and Preston to play the guitar. They had real lessons, so maybe he'd be willing to teach DeWitt. Give him a call, I'm sure he'd love it.

How nice to read about how your kids are doing. They sound great.We miss them so much, you can't even imagine. Send more pictures. Also send some pictures of Dallin's individual carvings.

The people sitting with the boys are Taz's kids, well daughter, son in law and granddaughter. It's tradish that they come for the pumpkin patch every year. Also..Allison is looking for ideas to ask. Rachel said to fill up the boys car or room with tennis balls with one letter written on each ball. I forgot to post on Lillian and Polly's paragraph that they entered several ceramics in the fair on won blue and red ribbons.

my fav way that I answered someone to a formal can be used to ask someone also. Mary helped me, so she can help you too. But you write a poem on toilet paper (Scott brand because it's the toughest). The poem tells them to tear each piece and place them on the ground in a 10x10 square. Then when they finish there is a big poster that is asking them, or revealing who is asking them to the frolic. It's complicated in writing, but it's pretty neat to see it come together.
