Emma and Analynn trying to keep all the chickens in one area. Analynn was awesome just hearding them around, carefully picking them up, putting them down in the middle of the flock and saying 'scuse me, scuse me' as she carefully brushed them around with her new pink boots.

Connie and I have been so nervous ever to let him get very far away from us for any amount of time and this whole entire week, he's in Aspen with the Shining Star Foundation. This foundation brings kids with different challenges together to learn to ski and snowmobile and just have a great time. They're staying in the hotel at the base of Buttermilk mountain which is the same hotel the X-Games teams stayed at. The guy who manages the foundation is a neurosurgeon so we felt like he's the right guy to be there in case of emergency. Most of the kids who go to this come from Southern California and there are three local kids who are there. He's been so excited to go and I'm sure he'll have a lot to share when he gets back. - Daniel

Wow! I didn't know Parker was already gone to the trip he was taking. I was going to blog a "Good Luck" to him, too. I know he is having a wonderful time. Tell him to call or write us all about it when he gets home.
Dad says you need to be sure you have something on top of your chicken pen to protect them from dogs and wild animals. Do you?
I can't wait to hear about Parker and his experiences, please don't forget to tell us. The chilkens are fun to see, but I sure like seeing your kids. Oh how they change when you don't see them that often.

Seeing all of those chickens gave me such fond memories of that big stump and axe in our back yard in St. Johns. Not that you'll do that with these chickens, but oh for fresh mcnuggets! That's exciting about Parker and way to go Devynne.
We only let the chickens out when we're out there with them. We're trying to get the dogs used to them and be more calm. In the next month or so, when they're bigger and I've had time to cover the yard then we'll let them out perminently.
I remember those chopping block days too but while we will definately process these chickens, we'll do it while they're sleeping, in the dark of night. I understand that they're calm when you hang them upside down and use a very sharp...well you get the idea. - Daniel
Daniel stop! I don't like all the talk about "processing" poor chickens. :) I want to see more pictures of the kids too. You can't see Annalyns face and Emma how old is she?

I've heard that singing to them just prior or playing some soft music also helps by keeping the blood where it should be rather than where it shouldn't. I've also heard about hanging them upside down and using a sharp...helps too. "Processing" sunds like fun. Let us know if you need a helping hand in the form of Daynen since we had Porter while doing our lawn. I'm sure that would be a great experience for him.
We are definatly going to have to come visit the "Biggs Farm" this summer! Looks like Fun!
