We went to the gypsy market to buy some lembrances de Portugal.
One of the gypsy women, doing HER shopping at the modern hiper-mercado
Dad was watching a game of dominoes and the Elders snapped this picture because he just looked like he belonged there with them.
For p-day this week, Dad took the Elders to Peniche to see an old fort/prison. They very kindly left me home to start packing! Here, Dad is talking to a wax figure.
This ancient fort was used as a political prison during World War II, and even up to the 70's, I think.
Here are the Elders at the prison/fort.
This nice man was sitting in the sun, enjoying the warmth after days and days of rain. His traditional hat was flipped over in front of his eyes to shield them from the sun. We just stopped and asked him if we could take his picture and he was very happy to let us.
