Joel, Bert & I had a great time on our trip to Germany and Austria last week for our Silent Night Festival. We were only there for a few days, but it was really fun. Germany and Austria were really cool. We would love to go back some time. We spent the first couple of days in Salzburg. Fortunately Salzburg isn't too huge, so we were able to walk all around it several times visiting all of the sites and the Christmas Markets (Christkindl Markts).

Thanks for sharing this with us. All the pictures remind me of Portugal--it doesn't look that different except for the mountains and the heavy coats. Are any of the mountain pictures of the "Eagles Nest"? Did the tour of the concentration camp have the same impact on you as the Holocaust Museum? Glad you had a good time.

Oh my goodness! Talk about dejavu! It looks so much like Portugal at Christmas time, except not so old and decayed. How beautiful
everything is. Are the Germans like the Portuguese as far as inside heat? I noticed the kids singing in the church with their outside coats on.
I'm so glad you got to go, but I am so glad you're home again in the good old USA where there are no concentration camps to tour.
