Ok, so I have been accused of never posting anything on the blog. I suppose there is some truth to it. So, here are a few pics from our family home evening last week. We signed up as a family to host the gingerbread display at the Mormon Trail Center. As you can tell from the group pic, the kids were ecstatic about this "opportunity" to serve.
The visitor's center has hundreds of gingerbread displays that people have made. My favorite was the "Gingerbread Nuclear Power Plant" complete with waste pond, and little people in protective outfits. (sorry, no picture). Here are a few pictures of the kids with some of their favorites.
Here is a great picture of the Winter Quarters Temple from the visitor's center parking lot that Hannah took. You will notice a nice view of Venus, Jupiter, and the Moon above Moroni. Also, a picture of Shauna's edible Thanksgiving Turkey Centerpiece.

That is an awesome picture of the Temple. We also missed having you all here for Thanksgiving to have some of your homemade pie fillings and maybe even a cool center piece like that.
The kids were all pretty upset that we did not go (adults too). We hope you managed to have an enjoyable meal without us. Did you smoke a turkey this year (you know it's hard to get them rolled up in the paper)?
I LOVE that centerpiece! I definitely want to make one like that. I loved all the pictures, especially the ones of you and the kids. Thanks for blogging.
We went cold turkey this year and didn't smoke one. We did have a good time and plenty to be thankful for. Dad was talking about Branson for next year and we're already looking forward to that so I say let's start the planning process. We're starting a change jar to save our money for souvenirs. Can't wait to see how Branson does Christmas.

This sounds like a neat experience. Wish we could be there to participate. It seems like more and more of the responsiblities of church service are falling to local members--and that's good.
