Everyone under 12 got a shot at the Santa pinata. When it finally burst, after Reygan's hit, there was a real free-for-all, grabbing the treat bags.
The traditional Hiatt Nativity Pageant was even more special this year because there was no Baby Jesus for Mary (Marlie) to hold. At the end, she finally reached over and grabbed almost-two-year-old Soren, who was only too glad to be the star of the show.
The kids who were at Grandma and Grandpa's party got to tell Santa what they wanted for Christmas...however, most of them said the didn't know! Can you imagine that?
At the Biggs famiily party on Christmas Eve, we had our pork chop dinner, along with Rebecca's cinnamon rolls, hash browns, eggs, and juice. All the big people pitched in and helped and all the little people pitched in and ate. After we ate, we had a wonderful talent show in which several people played piano solos...surprisingly good...and some sang and told jokes and did tricks. We also had a visit from Santa Claus! He visited with each child, found out what they wanted for Christmas and gave them each a goody bag. My camera's battery failed at precisely this moment, of course, so I don't have pictures. Dad hurried up and charged it so it would be ready for the Nativity Pageant later.

Christmas morning. We enjoyed having the Brown family with us for Christmas. It was like the old days, watching kids see what Santa had brought and especially watching Soren absolutely LOVE Christmas. He loved everything about it: the toys, the treats, the tree, and especially his "hippy car."
Santa brought Dad a baby Gator. He was so excited and had Tony and Shad help him put it together so that the kids could drive it. It's funny to see the little kids, even as young as Brianna and Brynlie and Camille drive that thing. They just whip around the yard, reverse and whip the other way.
I know that New Year's Day is not December, but our party officially ended our Christmas season as well as starting off the New year, so I am including it. We have been warming the pool so that I can swim, so we just invited anyone who was brave enough to jump in. It was about 55 degrees outside, and 82 degrees in the water, but no one over Polly's age had the courage to try. Only Polly, Isabel, Luke, Brynlie and Camille swam while the rest of us watched. They had a great time and we froze.

We love the pictures and while we're sad not to be at one of Grandpa's Polar Express parties, we did have our own Colorado Christmas Eve Polar Express party.

Love the good old Hiatt party, and miss seeing all the kids dressed up for the nativity! Allison is all grown up, and everyone looks older! Great pictures! Glad it was a fun filled December!!
Sorry we missed the Hiatt party, but I loved the Biggs party. I love it every year and hope that more can come next year. I love seeing all the little kids doing the Nativity, especially, because I don't have to anymore. It was a wonderful Christmas and an excellent New Year. Love to all
